Advanced PHP Programmer for Product Import and Logistics Application Modifications

Project Description:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Senior-level PHP programmer for a long-term collaboration on modifying and improving our existing PHP scripts for product imports and our internal PHP application for logistics management.

Required Skills and Experience:

Advanced PHP Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern PHP (minimum version 7.x, ideally 8.x) and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles is essential.
Experience with Modifying Existing Code: Ability to quickly understand existing code, analyze it effectively, and modify it safely.
Database Proficiency: Very good knowledge of SQL and experience with optimizing database queries (preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL).
Experience with Data Imports: Proven experience in implementing and modifying scripts for importing data from various formats (e.g., CSV, XML, JSON) and different sources (APIs, files). Knowledge of handling encoding and data validation issues.
Web Application Development: Experience in developing and maintaining web applications in PHP.
Version Control Systems: Mandatory knowledge and active use of Git.
Basic Front-End Knowledge: Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is an advantage for potential minor UI adjustments.
API Knowledge: Experience with integrating and working with external APIs (e.g., for obtaining product data, carrier information, etc.).
Testing: Experience with writing and performing unit and integration tests.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
Independence and Proactivity: Ability to solve problems independently and propose optimal solutions.
Job Responsibilities:

Modifying and optimizing existing PHP scripts for automated import of product data from various sources.
Debugging and resolving errors in import processes.
Developing new features and modifying the existing PHP application for managing logistics processes (e.g., order management, inventory, shipping).
Integrating the application with other systems using APIs.
Ensuring the stability and performance of the application.
Writing clean, understandable, and well-documented code.
