Developer for 3 months contract

Job Summary
Our small team is seeking a Developer with significant experience in Java, modern application design, and implementing scalable and event-driven applications. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about building modern cloud-native applications.

This is a short-term contract for 3 months to start at the beginning of August.

Required Skills
5+ years of experience and advanced knowledge of middleware technologies, including enterprise web or middleware development project experience. (e.g., application integration, data integration, change data capture); experience with Confluent/Kafka, Kubernetes and Docker is a significant benefit;

5+ years of experience working directly with enterprise stakeholders and architects on a range of development and deployment projects;

Deep experience building and operating in-production Big Data, stream processing, or enterprise data integration solutions using Apache Kafka

Experience operating Linux (configure, tune, and troubleshoot both RedHat and Debian-based distributions)

Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting

Experience with distributed systems (Kafka, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.)

Proficiency in Java

Experience with Python, Scala, or Go

Plus
Experience using Amazon Web Services, Azure, or GCP for running high-throughput systems

Experience helping customers build Apache Kafka solutions alongside Hadoop technologies, relational and NoSQL databases, message queues, and related products

Experience with configuration and management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef

Experience writing to network-based APIs (preferably REST/JSON or XML/SOAP)

Knowledge of enterprise security practices and solutions, such as LDAP or Kerberos
