Background: Background Bluetooth operations have historically been challenging to implement natively on mobile platforms, especially when it comes to maintaining persistent connections and reading characteristics in the background.
Problem: We need an Android developer to create native code that allows continuous reading of Bluetooth characteristics in the background after the initial connection is made. The solution must handle all phone states, including screen on/off, app in the foreground/background, and ideally, even when the app is killed.
Basic Android App: Create a minimal Android app focused solely on functionality, with a basic UI.
Bluetooth Service: Develop a Bluetooth service to manage BLE operations.
Device Scanning and Connection: Implement functionality to scan for and connect to a specific Bluetooth device using its MAC address or name.
Continuous Characteristic Reading: Once connected, the app should continuously read a specified characteristic, even when running in the background.
Background Operation: Ensure the reading process continues under all conditions: screen on, screen off, app in the foreground, and app in the background.
Persistent Operation: Ideally, this service should continue running even if the app is killed. If this is feasible, it should be supported.
Reconnection Handling: Implement logic to automatically rescan and reconnect to the device if it disconnects, all in the background.
Data Handling: For now, there’s no need to save or send the data to a server. The focus is on reliable background BLE communication.
