BIRT 4.8.0 Setup for Maximo 7.6.1.3
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’ve installed IBM Maximo 7.6.1.3 on-prem and now need BIRT Report Designer 4.8.0 running locally so I can edit and publish reports. I pulled the BIRT installer directly from the IBM website, yet both the install and the follow-up configuration are failing.

Current roadblocks
• BIRT throws the errors:
“The library with the namespace ‘MaximoSystemLibrary’ is not found.”
“The theme ‘maximoTheme’ used by Report Design is not found.”
“The parent element ‘MaximoSystemLibrary.maximoDataSource’ does not exist.”
“The parent element ‘MaximoSystemLibrary.maximoLandscape’ does not exist.”
• I still have to wire in the SQL Server JDBC driver so BIRT can reach both our test and production databases.
• Java on the machine is the older Maximo-compatible release (Java 1.4 / 1.4.1), so any tweaks must respect that runtime.
What I need from you
1. Clean installation (or repair) of BIRT 4.3.1 that loads the MaximoSystemLibrary and maximoTheme correctly.
2. Configuration of the SQL Server JDBC connection in BIRT, verified against the test server first, then the production server.
3. A brief walkthrough or notes so I can reproduce the setup on a second workstation.
Acceptance criteria
• BIRT starts without missing-library or missing-theme errors.
• Test query against the SQL Server test database returns data inside the BIRT data preview.
• A sample report deploys back to Maximo 7.6 and renders in both environments.
I’m ready to screen-share or provide remote access the moment we start.
