iOS app for PWA: Fix Payment redirect bug and add Firebase Push Notifications
Budget: $30 – $60 USD
We are currently wrapping an existing PWA (progressive web app) as an iOS app to add push notifications and publish it on the app store and as we are web developers need some help mainly on the surface between the native and PWA code fixing a payment redirect bug and adding push notifications.
The PWA is already implemented and uses Typescript, Firebase, and React and has a service worker for offline use.
The Xcode project was generated with https://www.pwabuilder.com/ - the PWA is embedded in a WKWebView with app bound domains enabled (requires iOS 14.1 or above) using the experimental iOS support of PWAbuilder https://github.com/pwa-builder/pwabuilder-ios/tree/main/Microsoft.PWABuilder.IOS.Web/Resources/ios-project-src/pwa-shell
1. Fix payment redirect bug
We are facing a problem with the payment redirect after the 3D secure step. After approving the payment the app sometimes hangs for 30-60 seconds showing a white or black screen as is described in a similar issue we found on stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/67571345/ios-iphone-11-flashing-black-and-white-while-browsler-is-constantly-reloading-r Your task would be to resolve the problem with the redirect back into the app after the payment step
2. Add Firebase push notifications for iOS
Firebase Web Push notifications have already been implemented and we have an Android app in the Play Store so it would be a matter of just adding iOS support. Firebase push notifications are already implemented on the native side and in the following repo is an example how to route push notifications to the webview: https://github.com/khmyznikov/ios-pwa-wrap
