Social Networking Mobile App Development - Carsplit
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I need a commute-focused ride-sharing app that helps reduce the number of cars on Hungarian roads during daily work commutes. Drivers can post their regular routes to pick up coworkers or nearby commuters heading in the same direction, and passengers can search for a ride that goes to their workplace. The app includes a built-in chat feature so drivers and passengers can discuss details and reach an agreement. Payments happen in-app, including a small per-kilometer fee (e.g., 2 forints per km). The goal is to save money, cut down on traffic congestion, and make everyday travel more eco-friendly.
We plan to publish Carsplit on both Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, ensuring it meets all necessary guidelines for approval.
If you feel confident you can handle this project, I can share the UI designs and other details with you. Please send me a price quote and an estimated timeline for completion, so we can move forward with the next steps.
Discounts or Bonus System
Offer bonuses for completing a certain number of rides, or provide credits that users can only redeem within the app. This makes it worthwhile for them to keep using the platform.
Ratings and Trust
Encourage mutual ratings to build reliability and credibility. If they skip the app, they won’t receive ratings, making them less trustworthy for future drivers or passengers.
Automatic Scheduling and Updates
The app can handle changes in schedules or routes, sending notifications when something shifts. Verbal agreements aren’t as flexible or reliable.
Security and Accountability
Documented trips can come with insurance or other protective measures (and legal clarity), which may not apply to off-app agreements.
Community and Gamification
Implement badges, points, or leaderboards (e.g., “Top Driver of the Month”). This fosters engagement and a sense of community in the app.
Regular Promotions or Special Offers
For instance, holiday discounts or referral campaigns that are only valid in-app. This provides an extra incentive to keep booking rides through the platform.

Robert
