# Request for Proposal (RFP) – “Turk’s Compass” Super App Development & Project Scope Document
## Project Overview
### Project Name: “Turk’s Compass” Super App Development
### Project Budget: $750.00 – $1500.00 CAD
**Project Title:**
**Project Abstract:**
Introducing "Turk’s Compass" – a groundbreaking Yellow Pages mobile app to serve as a “finder” for services/establishments and information. This mobile app should be released both on the Apple IOS and Google Android App Stores.
Targeted audience of the application are:
a) Entire Turkish community in Canada regardless of their city (Supporting all cities, such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, London, Calgary, Regina, etc.)
b) Anyone from Turkey wishing to immigrate to Canada.
For inspiration, you can explore a similar Katalog Kanada app, [here](https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/katalogkanada/id1042278547).
********Project Plan:********
1. **1st Phase App Features:**
- Facilitate easy access to services, allowing users to post and view reviews.
- Categorize features into five main areas, represented as tiles inspired by the Katalog Kanada app mentioned above.
1. Food and Entertainment
a) Turkish restaurants, cafes, bars, shisha bars, etc.
2. Healthcare, Personal Services, and Renovation Services
a) Dentists, doctors, vets
b) Hairdressers, nail salons, tailors
c) Lawyers, Immigration Consultants, Certified Translators, Education Consultants, Realtors
d) Accountants, Mortgage Brokers, Insurance Brokers, Bankers
e) Construction/Renovation Services, Plumbers, Electricians, Locksmiths
All these details regarding the above Turkish businesses will be pulled from the Google Maps API. This data flow should occur at least weekly. The data that will be pulled are detailed out in the Development & Technical section.
3. Job Seeking Platform
- Implementing a Job application interface for newcomers or even people from Turkey to apply. This will be useful for people as they will have a “familiar” job-searching platform, with relaxed requirements.
- Job application and posting interfaces are required. Prepared UI details are found below. Open to suggestions.
Job seekers will apply to positions that will be posted on this mobile app with a fee, called Job Seeker tier. Details are provided under the Monetization section. Employers will have a separate view where they will post the job openings with a fee. Details are provided under the Monetization section.
4. Events/Promotion Calendar
- Listing relevant community events. This will be visible through a calendar once the user clicks on the ‘Upcoming Events’ under the main Dashboard.
5. Compass+ Feature
- A premium feature allowing users to ask questions related to Canada, powered by the ChatGPT-API(or an alternative Language based AI model). Included in the Premium+ tier costing 2.99 CAD/month. Details are provided under the Monetization section. This feature can be used to convert raw resume information of the job seeker into a proper Canadian resume format that could be useful for job applications.
2. **2nd Phase App Features:**
Only the 2 below features, Buy/Sell platform and the Compass Communities section are part of the 2nd Phase. 2nd Phase is optional and further details will be provided down the road but you can separately provide your quotation for this phase.
1. Personal Buy/Sell Advertisement Feature
a) Buy/Sell Feature so that people can list their individual services and/or items.
b) Messaging between users.
Buyers will have to watch a video while messaging, and sellers will have to watch a video while posting their ad. These are categorized under rewarded videos.
Sellers can promote their listings for a certain fee.
Example app to be used as reference: Kijiji
2. Compass Communities
a) A feature to engage people even more with sub-communities. Such as York University Students or Financial Analysts in Toronto.
b) Monetization strategies should be contemplated.
********Design the User Interface (UI):********
- Create wireframes and design a user-friendly interface supporting both Turkish and English languages.
- Focus on a clean and intuitive design for easy navigation.
- Below are the UX Design and In-App Process Flow for insights. We are open to suggestions.
1. Landing Page, Search functionality
[UX Design] (https://app.moqups.com/SIIuThet9E4fsSZ1Tbu5NJDHOyKyGKV1/view/page/a880590a1?ui=0)
2. Job Application Interface [UX Design] (https://app.moqups.com/fItmeB3flQ5HDueZsxjHZIWa9wJ6UX3T/view/page/a880590)
********Development & Technical********
- Choose a cross-platform development approach using React Native, Flutter, or native development. We are open to the developer’s suggestion with this.
- Native development is the least desired UI path, as it will require double work to develop & maintain.
- Choose a reliable, fast, and efficient database (either SQL or noSQL).
- Secure User Authentication.
- Integrate with Google API to access Google Reviews, Google Maps to find a service, and ChatGPT to ask questions.
Google API: Seamlessly integrate Google Maps for location-based services and access to Google reviews. The selected Turkish owned businesses data in Google Maps (i.e. restaurant information, address, contact number, open hours, business description, Google reviews/ratings) will be available in the Turk’s Compass app.
- A reliable search algorithm and search bar to link search input words with services. Such as “work permit” should retrieve immigration consultant or “baklava” should retrieve “Turkish pastry shop”.
- Education and tutorial of our co-lead about the technical infrastructure.
- Handing over the source code. Repository Management. App copyright will be under the owner, Maple Leaf Ventures.
- Incremental & full backup strategies to be discussed. A very secure and stable database is needed.
- An architecture that will be able to host and perform with a high volume of data. No service-related issues, such as HTTP 503, no bottlenecks or system crashes.
a) **User Registration and Profiles:**
- Allow users to create accounts for personalized experiences, including review postings.
- Registration is required for users to save their favorite businesses.
- Users need to create accounts to use the Job Seeking features.
- In all other cases listed above, no account is needed for general app use.
b) **Database and Backend:**
- Establish a database for efficient storage of business information with minimal server expenses.
- Develop a backend system to manage listings, reviews, and user data.
c) **Analytics:**
- Integrate analytics tools to monitor user behavior and app performance.
- Leverage insights for data-driven improvements and continuous UI enhancements.
d) **Customer Support:**
- Provide responsive customer support through the app's "Contact Us" section.
9. **Monetization Strategies:**
To ensure a steady income stream, the app will employ various monetization approaches, including:
- **Advertising:**
- The app will showcase banner ads (spinning) and rewarded video ads through AdMob. Rewarded video ads are scheduled every 15 minutes for all users and also after the job seeker’s job application through the Job Seeking sub-platform. Banner ads will be at the bottom of the app all the time. It's important to highlight that users subscribing to the Premium+ tier will enjoy an ad-free experience. Specifics about this tier can be found further below.
- Businesses can independently publish personalized ads on the app, distinct from the AdMob pool. Pricing for these customized ads will differ, with monthly rates set at 10 CAD for banner ads and 20 CAD for personalized rewarded video ads. These ads will be displayed up to 1000 users per month.
Please find the user tiers and their features below:
Freemium: No job seeker access, watches ads, no Compass+ access
Job Seeker: 1.49$/month. Can apply jobs through Job Seeker. Watches ads, no Compass+ access.
Premium+: 2.99$/month. Can apply jobs through Job Seeker. Access to Compass+ and no advertisement will be shown to the users in this tier.
Employer: “Blue Tick” to verify employers. Free to register. Prices to be re-evaluated after the first 6 months of the launch. Watches ads.
Premium Employer: “Blue Tick” to verify employers. 5$/month. Can review job applications and CVs over the app instead of receiving the CV’s to their email addresses which is more cumbersome. 10 custom questions to be asked for job applicants before the job application. 1 banner ad is awarded 1 time/month. No advertisement will be shown to the users in this tier.
- **Job Application Features:**
- The Job Seeker tier enables users to explore and apply for jobs predominantly in the Canadian service and construction sectors. These job opportunities are posted by businesses registered in the Turk’s Compass.
- Employers need to create accounts to independently post job openings to receive the Blue Tick.
- Job listings will be regularly updated and automatically removed after 30 days. An automated deletion process is set, with a notification sent five days before the deadline, unless an admin or job poster approves an extension.
- Rewarded videos will be presented before job applications, and users can opt-out of these by subscribing to the Premium+ tier.
Developers are encouraged to review these monetization strategies and propose enhancements for this groundbreaking app serving the Turkish community across Canada.
10. **Documentation:**
- Provide clear documentation for future maintenance and updates.
- We request post-project assistance/support for 6 months in case of any bugs, defects.
Please see the Proposal Submission Guidelines in the attachment. Thank you for your interest.
