Project Brief: React Native & Expo Mobile App - Build, Debug, and Optimize
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I have a React Native mobile app project integrated with Expo, targeting both Android and iOS platforms. The project currently faces build issues, configuration inconsistencies, and dependency conflicts. I am seeking an experienced React Native developer who can troubleshoot, refactor, and optimize the project to make it production-ready, including building it successfully for both platforms and ensuring functionality with core features like Expo modules.
Goals and Deliverables
1. Project Setup and Environment Fixes
• Resolve all build issues, including dependency conflicts and Gradle configurations.
• Update the project to work with compatible versions of Node, Expo SDK, React Native, and other libraries.
• Ensure that eas build and Gradle builds can successfully run for both Android and iOS platforms.
2. Dependency Management and Module Configuration
• Fix dependency issues, especially regarding Expo modules (e.g., expo-constants, expo-splash-screen).
• Ensure compatibility with the latest Expo SDK (targeting SDK 51.0.0 or compatible).
• Confirm that all required dependencies, such as Firebase, Flipper, and third-party modules (like react-native-svg), work smoothly.
3. Refactoring and Code Quality Improvement
• Refactor build files and ensure clean and organized code structure, especially within android/app/build.gradle and android/build.gradle.
• Ensure that all dependencies are correctly managed, removing unnecessary or conflicting packages.
• Optimize configuration for Android and iOS builds, ensuring that the project adheres to best practices for both platforms.
4. Testing and Deployment
• Test the app on both Android and iOS devices to confirm all modules and features work as expected.
• Provide instructions or scripts to automate environment setup (e.g., recommended Node, NPM, and Expo versions).
• Set up the project to allow me to build the app independently in the future with detailed build and deployment documentation.
Additional Tasks
• Address any outstanding Expo or EAS-specific warnings and errors that may impact the build process.
• Review and optimize the project structure and dependencies to ensure minimal issues during future updates.
• Identify and resolve any performance bottlenecks or potential issues with memory usage.
