Navigation Centric iPhone Map App
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
This project calls for a seasoned App Developer for an exciting map-based iPhone App geared for surveyors and the surveying industry.
This application primarily focuses on providing surveyors in the field with a real-time view of survey control (monuments, etc) established in their immediate surrounding area as well as other areas selected.
Anticipated functions will be:
- Real-time navigation to facilitate instant routes update and accurate directions to control
- A detailed street view to boost user's orientation and visual experience
- An effective location search function that will allow users to effortlessly find particular control points
API integration knowledge would be a plus, as I'm still undecided on this aspect. I need a professional who can provide expert advice on the incorporation of external services if they prove beneficial for the project's success.
The developer should also be familiar with the use of data bases and importing data bases into the program.
It is anticipated that available open source software will be used heavily in this project to reduce costs. The overall look and feel will be much like using Apple maps but with the search function limited to survey specific items.
About me. I have worked in the survey industry for over 30 years now. I am a surveyor not a coder so I will be no help to you in regards to coding issues. I will try to convey to you the task as clearly as possible by the use of images, screen shots and easy task descriptions.
To start this project I believe it is best if we use a fixed price and agree on a certain small task first. This allows us to build a working relationship. From here we can explore the pay by hour option.
