iOS GPS Doctor Finder
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I want to launch a native iOS application that helps patients pinpoint the right specialist around them in seconds. Using the phone’s GPS, the app should display nearby doctors on an interactive map and in a sortable list. Patients must be able to narrow results by specialty, tap a profile, and instantly see three key pieces of information I consider essential: contact details, the doctor’s specializations, and real-world reviews with ratings.

The experience needs to feel effortless. After location permissions are granted, users land on a clean map (MapKit or a comparable framework is fine) that auto-centers on their position. A search bar and filter panel let them type a condition or select a specialty; markers update in real time. From any doctor card they can call the office, get directions, or open a richer profile screen that shows the doctor’s bio, those reviews, and accepted insurance plans. I am currently focused on doctors only, but the architecture should be flexible enough to add insurance providers or even banks later without rewriting core components.
You’re free to use Swift or SwiftUI, as long as the UI feels modern and loads quickly. A lean backend (Firebase, Supabase, or a small REST service) should hold doctor records, user accounts, and review data; push updates over HTTPS/JSON. Local caching for slow connections and secure authentication (Sign in with Apple preferred) round out the must-haves.
Deliverable: a production-ready Xcode project with well-commented source, testflight-ready build, and a concise setup guide so I can maintain the content myself. If you’ve built map-driven or healthcare search apps before, I’d love to see them.
