Pingd: Reinventing the Event Planning App

Pingd is a mobile app only, android / ios that reinvents the calendar for a new generation. It ditches outdated calendar paradigms in favor of a minimalist, fast, and socially connected experience designed for the way people actually plan today.

1. Simple, Smart Structure
A 3-tab bottom navigation layout:

Chat: Messaging interface where every chat is tied to an event or group

Ping (Create): Quickly create events, invite friends, and share links

MyEvents (Calendar): Visual, scrollable view of upcoming events and birthdays
(no outside calendar for this version needed ) just in app calendar
2. Event Creation Flow ("Ping")
Minimal, mobile-optimized form:

Event Title (required)

Description (optional)

Date & Time Picker

Invite Participants:

From in-app contacts

From phonebook

Via shareable link

Optional availability feedback based on shared calendars

Invitees can swipe to accept or decline events

3. Calendar View (Read-Only)
Clean, colorful timeline of accepted events

Scrollable by week (with future option to toggle to month view)

Displays birthdays and social reminders

No event creation here to reduce clutter

4. Chat-Based Planning
Each chat represents a group or event

Pending invites shown at top

Status indicators (pending, accepted)

Unread counters, countdown labels ("in 2 days")

Swipe to accept/decline directly from chat list

5. Privacy & Permissions
Two-layer privacy model:

App-level: disable calendar access completely

Friend-level: share “busy/free” status per contact

Never share event content — only availability
