We need a cross-platform mobile app (iOS and Android) for users to submit and view real-time prices and availability of nicotine pouches (e.g., Zyn, Rogue) at retail stores (e.g., gas stations, vape shops) in Central Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and surrounding areas like Cumberland, Dauphin, York, and Lancaster counties). The app will not sell products but will help users find the cheapest local options, similar to GasBuddy. The MVP will feature a simple interface with map-based store selection and crowd-sourced data.
Key Features:
Price Submission:
Form for users to submit: store location (selected via map or list), brand, price per can/roll (required); flavor, nicotine strength, stock status (optional).
Quick submission (10-15 seconds) with geolocation to suggest nearby stores.
Submissions have upvotes and downvotes that other users will vote on.
Note: Users must only provide store, price, and brand; other fields are optional to simplify submissions.
Store Locator:
Map view (Google Maps or OpenStreetMap) showing stores in Central Pennsylvania with reported prices and stock.
List view with filters for brand, flavor, strength, or distance.
Database:
Pre-populate ~2,000-5,000 retail locations in Central Pennsylvania using free datasets (e.g., OpenStreetMap).
Store user submissions (price, brand, optional fields, timestamp) in a scalable database.
Basic Data Moderation:
Flag outlier prices (e.g., $1 or $50 vs. typical $4-$8).
Show submission timestamps for data freshness.
Compliance:
Include a one-time age verification prompt (21+) for nicotine product regulations.
