Develop a social media app
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
The following is my idea: I am proposing a platform where a person (with or without creating a profile on the platform preferably by creating a profile) can share/post images, videos, audio, texts, links and/or other media and/or other content and people in that person’s contact list (contacts/contact list on that person’s mobile device) are able to view and like and/or comment and/or share (and/or perform other activities on) the posts (unless restricted from doing so) and that person is also able to view the posts/shares of people in that person’s contact list (contacts/contact list on that person’s mobile device) on the platform and can also like and/or comment and/or share (and/or perform other activities on) the posts (unless restricted from doing so).
To make our discussion easier let us suppose there are two people called A and B who signed up on the proposed platform. Now the process of signing up should be a pretty straightforward process. A and B can sign up on the platform using their mobile number. Let us also suppose that A’s mobile number exists in B’s contact list on B’s mobile device. After B signs up, the contacts list in B’s mobile device is send/uploaded to a server after getting appropriate permissions from B. On the server side the contacts list of B is checked for the following : i) if people in B’s contacts list, say A, have already signed up on the platform ii) if (i) is true then whether B’s mobile number exist in A’s contacts list. If both the conditions are met, A’s profile is shown to B. Likewise the profiles of all people in B’s contact list which satisfies both the above conditions are also shown to B (in the mobile app preferably as a list). B can then remove people from the list whom B don’t wish to share/show B’s posts with or confirm people with whom B wish to share/show B’s posts (and/or establish a relationship on the platform). So a person in B’s contact list, say A, can see the B’s posts if i) B has allowed A to see B’s posts (and/or established a relationship on the platform) ii) B’s mobile number is in A’s contact list [ (iii) if A has allowed B to see A’s posts - this is optional]. This is when B signs up on the platform. But after that each time B saves a new contact on B’s mobile device, the contact is send/uploaded to the server and the same process repeats and if the above mentioned conditions are met i.e (i) if the new contact have already signed up/ have an account on the platform ii) if (i) is true then whether B’s mobile number exist on the contacts list of the new contact, B is asked (in the mobile app or otherwise) whether B wishes to share/show posts to the new contact (and/or establish a relationship between the new contact and B on the platform). If B approves(and/or after the relationship is established on the platform), the new contact will be able to see B’s posts. It is possible to like and/or comment and/or share and/or perform other activities on the posts. The advantage is that people can connect with others instantly without taking the effort and time to send friend/follow requests and waiting for the other person to accept it like in other social media platforms. This is not the only way of doing it but I had explained it in detail to better understand my idea.
I would like you to build a simple frontend and simple backend. I would like to build the backend using firebase and frontend using react native or swift for iOS(whichever is cost effective). Initially I plan to only make the app for iOS. Let me know how many hours it will take to make the app and how much I should pay to get it done.
