URGENT: Highly Specialized Investigative Public Records Researcher Needed (U.S. Nationwide)

We are not looking for a general virtual assistant. We require a specialized Freelancer to act as our independent public records agent, securing high-value audiovisual evidence for a Canadian documentary production house (YouTube platform).

MUST-HAVE Qualifications – Please read carefully.

Independent FOIA/Public Records Expertise: Must have 5+ years of demonstrable experience filing, appealing, and successfully completing complex, high-volume FOIA and state-level public records requests across multiple U.S. states/counties.
Targeted Retrieval Focus: Proven ability to successfully obtain sensitive media, including BWC, Dashcam, 911 audio, and interrogation footage directly from law enforcement and county legal departments.
The "Insider" Network: You must possess an established, verifiable professional network or background in Investigative Journalism or Law Enforcement Records/Legal Divisions. The ability to utilize this network to expedite the retrieval process and negotiate with agencies is critical to success.
Full Autonomy: You are expected to manage the entire process, including appeals, redaction negotiations, and follow-up with county legal counsel without external legal guidance from our team.

Compensation Highlight

This is a high-value role compensated via a competitive Flat Fee per request filed + Performance Bonus for every successful footage retrieval.
We cover all agency-mandated public records/duplication fees.
