Objective: We are seeking to engage an experienced journalist or investigative researcher to conduct a discreet study on diversity within the leadership structures of major cruise companies. The research will focus on obtaining specific data regarding the nationalities and backgrounds of department heads, with an emphasis on Cruise line owned departments (not concessions like Spa, Shops, Photo that are not employed directly through the cruise lines).
Scope of Work: The journalist will be required to:
Identify and Contact five leading cruise companies, including but not limited to:
Celebrity Cruises
Royal Caribbean International
Norwegian Cruise Line
MSC Cruises
Carnival Cruise Line
Primary Research Goals:
Obtain a comprehensive list of departments within each company.
Identify the nationality and professional background of the head of each department.
Gather information on diversity initiatives related to leadership roles within these departments.
Approach:
The journalist will pose as an independent writer or researcher preparing an article or report on workplace diversity and leadership trends within the cruise industry.
All interactions should be professional, respectful, and in line with journalistic ethics, ensuring no suspicion of hidden motives.
Deliverables:
A detailed report summarizing the structure of each company’s departments.
Profiles of department heads, including nationality and diversity-related insights.
Any relevant statements or materials provided by the companies regarding their diversity policies.
Confidentiality Clause: The client commissioning this research is a large corporation that requires anonymity throughout this project. The journalist is expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the client's identity and the nature of this request.
Timeline: The project should be completed within 4-6 weeks from the start date, with regular progress updates provided bi-weekly.
