Investigative Political News Article Draft

I’m commissioning an English-language news article that digs beneath the surface of a current political issue. The piece must be written as investigative journalism, so I’m expecting original reporting rather than commentary or a simple recap of existing stories.

Scope
You will identify a timely political event or policy decision, develop a clear investigative lead, gather facts from multiple credible sources (interviews, public records, data sets, watchdog reports, etc.), and weave the findings into a compelling narrative that follows standard news structure and AP style. Accuracy and neutrality in the factual reporting are essential, even while the investigation may expose controversy or accountability gaps.

Deliverables
• 1,500 – 2,000-word article in Word or Google Docs
• Source list with links or citations for every fact, interview, or document referenced
• Brief methodology note outlining how data or documents were obtained (e.g., FOIA request, LexisNexis search)

Acceptance Criteria
The article must present verifiable evidence, balance all sides involved, and be ready for editorial review without requiring heavy rewriting. Plagiarism-free content is mandatory; I will run a Copyscape check.
