Mining Procurement & Inventory Strategist - Full time
Budget: $50 – $0 AUD
I need an experienced procurement professional who can shoulder full responsibility for sourcing and purchasing all materials we use across our mining sites, drive hard-nosed negotiations with both local and international suppliers, and keep our stock levels right on the sweet spot between over-capitalised and under-supplied. Your background must be rooted in the mining industry so you understand how critical lead-times, safety standards and fluctuating commodity prices are to daily operations.
Alongside day-to-day buying, I’ll rely on you to:
• Build and maintain a reliable supplier network, constantly benchmarking price, quality and delivery.
• Run detailed financial analyses before every major commitment so we hit cost-per-tonne targets.
• Draft, review and finalise contracts that protect our margins and guarantee service levels.
• Monitor warehouse data, spot slow-moving items early and adjust reorder points using solid supply-chain methodology.
Proficiency with supply-chain management systems, strong financial acumen and proven contract-negotiation results are non-negotiable. If you’ve already worked with common mining ERP or MRP tools, tell me which ones and how you used them to optimise inventory.
Deliverables I will measure you on:
1. A 90-day sourcing and inventory optimisation plan.
2. Monthly cost-saving and stock-turn reports.
3. Signed supplier agreements meeting our target terms.
I’m ready to start as soon as I find the right strategist, so outline your relevant mining achievements and the KPIs you delivered, and let’s talk.
