Subject: URGENT DEMAND FOR RELEASE OF WITHHELD FUNDS
Dear QuickBooks Payments Legal Team,
I am writing on behalf of Salt Source Financial Inc. d/b/a Rock Salt Source, a long-standing customer of QuickBooks Payments, to formally demand the immediate release of funds currently withheld from our account. Our business has been a merchant with QuickBooks for over five years and has never had any issues with payment processing until now.
Recently, due to an increase in sales volume related to seasonal demand, QuickBooks unilaterally closed our merchant account and is withholding over six figures of customer payments that were successfully processed. These funds represent legitimate business transactions that QuickBooks has already collected from our customers but has failed to deposit into our business account.
This action has severely impacted our business operations, preventing us from paying suppliers and fulfilling contractual obligations. QuickBooks has provided no valid justification for this extreme measure and has refused to release the funds despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue.
DEMAND FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION
Under applicable laws governing electronic funds transfers and payment processing, QuickBooks cannot indefinitely withhold funds without proper justification and due process. Therefore, we formally demand that QuickBooks:
1. Immediately release the withheld funds in full to our designated business account.
2. Provide a written explanation detailing the specific policy or contractual provision under which QuickBooks believes it has the right to withhold these funds.
3. Restore access to our customer transaction records, which were unlawfully restricted after the account closure.
LEGAL CONSEQUENCES
If QuickBooks fails to comply with this demand within five (5) business days, we will pursue all available legal remedies, including but not limited to:
• Filing a formal complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and Texas Attorney General’s Office for unfair business practices and wrongful withholding of funds.
• Initiating legal action for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and conversion of funds.
• Seeking injunctive relief and damages for business interference and financial harm caused by this wrongful withholding.
This letter serves as formal notice of dispute under applicable law. We strongly urge QuickBooks to resolve this matter promptly to avoid escalation.
Please direct all correspondence regarding this matter to ....We expect a written response confirming the immediate release of funds by [Insert Deadline Date – 5 business days from today].
Sincerely,
