Virtual Research / Executive Assistant Needed
Budget: $7 – $30 USD
Good morning. I am a Chicago-based professional looking for a highly-qualified and self-motivated virtual research and personal assistant to work with me on a variety of matters. Initially this will be a part time (hourly) role, but the hope is to transition it to a long-term (hourly but closer to full time or full time) role if we work together successfully.
You should be able to handle projects and deliver high-quality work under minimum supervision. While you need to be able to research complex issues and provide thorough and insightful answers and memos, please also be prepared and able to assist with more mundane administrative tasks — including personal ones.
Website design knowledge — including familiarity with Wordpress and WooCommerce is preferred — but not required. Excellent English — written and spoken — research, and organizational skills are critical. Curiousity and creativity are essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare draft email responses.
- Research and analyze issues, and prepare memos and analysis on assigned topics.
- Draft articles
- Book travel
- Manage and update contacts — create distribution lists
- Prepare spreadsheets and keep online records
- Perform market research
- Edit and format Word documents
- Create presentations, as assigned
Requirements
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Proven experience as a Virtual Assistant or relevant role
- Excellent online research skills.
- Familiarity with current technologies, like desktop sharing, cloud services and VoIP
- Experience with word-processing software and spreadsheets (e.g. MS Office)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
- Excellent phone, email, and instant messaging communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Solid organizational skills
- Ideally knowledge of website design and upkeep, including Wordpress / WooCommerce
- Good academic record and credentials
A few important things to note:
This is for a unique person. You need to have a broad range is skills, including, most importantly, the ability to research issues and prepare detailed and accurate analyses, memos, and articles. You will likely need to exchange emails with and / or have conversations with people to obtain information. In sum, you need to have very good English and educational credentials. Yet there will also be tasks that are more mundane. My strong preference is one executive assistant for all until we together decide to divide those duties.
You will *not* get this job by sending a “canned” response. The only way you will get it — on a trial basis — is by sending a thoughtful response explaining why you are a good fit for what I have outlined. Let me know what hourly rate you would be *happy* with. And tell me what you like to do when not working. That way I know you read this far. And I’m interested to know that — to work, we have to be a team, and we should both enjoy it :-)
All applicants should understand that they will be hired on an independent contractor basis, and will be responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
