English Language Quotations Compilation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We are developing a spreadsheet-based database of the most popular English quotations (or English translations), and are looking for a researcher with native English language skills who can identify and collate (into Excel or Google Sheets) the following requirements, providing the quotation, the author, and the source document (if available):
- 1,000 most popular quotations from literature (prose and poetry), excluding Bible quotations and the works of William Shakespeare
- 500 additional most popular English language quotations in addition to the above (from non-literary sources
- 200 of William Shakespeare’s most popular quotations
Maximum length of each quotation is 55 words.
Extensive source material is available online, and we encourage the use of existing source material, with the primary emphasis on the collation/assembly into the required format.
An example of the required spreadsheet format is available – however it is simply 3 columns – the quotation, author, and source.
We are open to proposals for the entire project, or an hourly rate which would be based on a short (2-4 hour trial).
Please note that Bible quotations are excluded from this project.
