Compile list of stories for telling a child -- 2

Compile a list of 30 (thirty) stories from the internet for telling to an 8-year old child. Can be mildly scary, strange, interesting. Please, no unicorns, princesses or fantasy, etc. Scary level should be appropriate for a child of this age. All stories must be complete with an ending that is interesting to a child of this age. Compile as single document, each story as a single paragraph with a title. Only text, no pictures. Provide in .txt file. This will be a recurring project. Can be legends from different countries and cultures, but all must be interesting to a child. All stories must be short, under 500 words, but more than 200.
