Compile list of stories for telling a child

Compile a list of 30 (thirty) stories for telling to an 8-year old child. Can be mildly scary, strange, interesting. Please, no unicorns, princesses or fantasy, etc. Scary level should be appropriate for a child of this age. Compile as single document, each story as a single paragraph with a title. Only text, no pictures. Provide in .txt file. This will be a recurring project. Can be legends from different countries and cultures, but all must be interesting to a child. All stories must be short, under 300 words. To show that you have read this, include the word "SHORTSTORY" at the beginning of your reply.
