IoT-Based Intelligent Energy Management System
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
The consumption of electrical energy is quadrupling and the non-renewable sources of energy are dwindling. Generation costs are more than the average price per unit to meet the demand. There are two ways of managing energy; one is through Supply Side Management and the other is through Demand Side Management. This project suggests a method for Demand Side Management using Internet of Things (IoT) which makes it intelligent enough and prompts the users to take responsibility for their loads. Our project manages the energy intelligently. It has three main functionalities in which we have Data acquisition, Data logging and Controlling. For Data acquisition, we are using a separate pzem-004T device for each load. We are logging out data locally as well as into cloud using wi-fi. The most important part of our project is to control the loads manually, remotely and intelligently. For Intelligent decisions we used different sensors like motion sensor, temperature sensor etc. The results obtained from this study demonstrate that Intelligent Energy Management Controller (IEMC) promotes a sustainable and energy-efficient lifestyle, contributing to the well-being of both the users and the environment. Furthermore, its implementation in smart buildings ensures a user-friendly interface, creating a comfortable and convenient environment for the occupants to easily monitor and control energy usage.
