Affiliate marketing and making profit from website

I'm trying to add affiliate marketing to my website to make a profit. To explain in more details, there should be a hyperlink to redirect to certain website. I'm not looking for a development for this link but more of a marketing side and how to let it happen. In addition to it, I'd like to discuss the every possible way to make my website profitable.
