exterior design of house
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Hi,
I am in the process of designing a home and we have completed floorplans from an architect, along with interior elevations and some exterior materials. When we started designing the home, our goal was to have a mid-century modern design. Our problem is that the current exterior design feels more contemporary/industrial than mid-century modern. We're hoping you can help us find ways to make our existing exterior design feel more mid-century modern than industrial. We can't change the footprint of the house at all or the floorplan really in any way. We can mostly just change the roofline and exterior materials.
Find attached current floorplan and some 3D renderings. As you can see, the exterior just isn't that sexy and doesn't really seem very mid-century modern. We like both contemporary and mid-century modern design, but the current design doesn't really feel like either - it feels more industrial.
We're hoping you can come up with some creative changes, either to the rooflines, exterior materials, etc. to add some more visual interest and get the exterior closer to a beautiful contemporary and/or mid-century modern design. Note again that we cannot change the footprint of the house at all.
The other challenge is to try to keep budget in mind when making the changes. I'm sure you could cover the whole house in granite and it would look stunning, but also cost a fortune. So please do keep cost in mind when making the changes - we'd ideally like to add no more than $40,000 USD to the cost for any exterior upgrades/changes.

Probably the Turkel Designs one main inspo - the link I shared above. But they all have a lot of aspects in common. I'm not necessarily looking to copy any one of those designs, i just wanted to show you the kinds of design features that I like
