We are seeking a talented freelance interior designer to revamp a 12ft x 10ft vegetable shop into a functional, aesthetically pleasing, and customer-friendly space. The ideal candidate should have experience with small retail spaces, particularly in food or produce shops, with a focus on maximizing space efficiency, enhancing visual appeal, and ensuring easy accessibility for customers.
Responsibilities:
Concept Design & Planning:
Develop a creative and functional layout to optimize the 120 sqft space.
Create a modern, clean, and welcoming ambiance while maintaining a natural look suitable for fresh produce.
Provide design options for arrangement, storage, and display that cater to fresh vegetables and maintain their quality.
Space Utilization & Layout:
Design efficient storage solutions and display areas for maximum product visibility and accessibility.
Strategically place shelves, baskets, or racks to make effective use of vertical space.
Ensure that the layout supports customer flow and ease of movement.
Material & Fixture Selection:
Recommend durable, easy-to-clean materials suitable for a produce environment (e.g., wood, metal, or plastic).
Suggest lighting that enhances the natural colors of the produce and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
Select and source cost-effective fixtures and furniture that align with the shop’s aesthetic and functional requirements.
Branding & Decor:
Incorporate branding elements and signage that attract attention to fresh, local produce.
Propose decorative elements that enhance the appeal of the shop, including color schemes, finishes, and accents that complement the natural aesthetic.
Budget Management:
Work within the specified budget to deliver high-quality results without compromising on functionality or design.
Provide a detailed cost estimate for materials, furniture, lighting, and decor elements.
Collaboration & Communication:
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and shop owners to ensure timely and smooth project execution.
Present design concepts, revisions, and updates to the shop owner for approval throughout the project.
Qualifications:
Proven experience designing small retail spaces, preferably in food or produce stores.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar.
Strong understanding of layout planning, materials selection, and visual merchandising.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
