Great Room and Kitchen lighting design

We have a great room 32' x 25' that has a 19.375' cathedral ceiling. There are currently plans for can lighting 7 per side evenly spaced in the ceiling. The great room encompasses a dining area approximately 9x8.5, a coffee bar opposite of dining area 9x8.5, living room area 10x 12 living room and 36" steps (down). It is tight but doable. I am looking to light my dining room, coffee bar and steps. My living room furniture will float, and I will provide lamp light in that area. I would like one big fan in the room (center of the actual living space, minus the steps or actual center is a question for me). My kitchen opens into the great room. One of the islands will bleed approximately 25" into the great room for seating. There is a header just above this island. It will need to be lit without pendants as I do not want to break the line of sight into my kitchen. This house is on a lake and there are large windows front and back. I am looking for help in lighting the areas and making sure the lights are beautiful and make sense. I am grateful to work with someone who can help me bring this space to life.
