Flat Refurbishment
Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR
Hi,
We are thinking about buying a property in Mallorca not too far from the airport.
This property is dated, the building is from 1981, and we are (or at least want to think we are) a fairly young couple with a small kid that would like something a little more up to date with our times... ☺️
The flat is approximately 120 sqm and we have a total budget of approximately €50,000, I'd say max €60,000 to renovate it and this should include all fees.
I will attach a couple of photos I have taken of the property so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about and I will mention below a list of things that we would be keen to do:
- floors everywhere except bathrooms
- kitchen (all of it from tiles to furniture to floor to... everything!) Do you also work with ikea kitchens to keep the budget down or only designer kitchens?
- walls painting and decorating (in the sense that now the walls or a little rough / coarse and we would like them plain / smooth to the touch)
Then, if there's any money left, ideally we would like to explore the possibility of adding a small square sky light in at least one of the bathrooms since above we only have our rooftop terrace (maybe with a frosted glass?) just so that we can get some natural light and ventilation in but we will need to check whether this can even be done at all.
And finally the 4 windows of the bedrooms and the front terrace glass windows with some sound proof insulation windows (this could be covered by the airport, need to confirm).
Again, not sure this will fall within budget but I guess this would be the order of priorities let's say.
And finally, there is also a 108sqm rooftop terrace that would need some love and care.
Is this something that you can work with or do you only work with bigger projects?
Do you think our budget could be realistic for the kind of job we have in mind?
As you might have gathered we are newbies when it comes to renovations or even house buying as this will be our first.
Thanks
