Draw a plan to scale - can be traced - SHOULD ONLY TAKE YOU 20MINUTES

Print the existing building plan at 1/8" = 1' 0" scale. (You can do this by cropping the border off the 1/4" scale plan, and printing it on 11 x 17 paper with 50-percent reduction.)
Lay a sheet of trace paper over it, and quickly trace all exterior walls, structural elements, and other existing building elements that cannot be demolished. The resulting drawing will capture all of the existing constraints that you must work within.
