Theme-Based Classroom Ideas
We are making a new school and want Each classroom to be designed around a learning theme that engages students and also fits our school’s identity (Birla Open Minds Sambalpur).
1. Nature & Environment Theme
Walls: Forest/river murals, green & blue palette.
Ceiling: Hanging artificial vines, birds.
Learning Elements: “Green corner” with potted plants, mini aquarium.
Furniture: Wooden textures, recycled furniture.
2. Space & Science Theme
Walls: Galaxy, rockets, planets.
Ceiling: Glow-in-the-dark stars.
Interactive: Augmented Reality solar system.
Furniture: Curved desks like spacecraft consoles.
3. Indian Heritage Theme
Walls: Odisha temples, Sambalpuri motifs, folk art.
Corners: Culture zone (Odissi dance cutouts, agrasen mural).
Furniture: Low wooden seating with bright cushions.
4. Jungle Safari / Wildlife Theme (for younger classes)
Walls: Cartoon animals, jungle path.
Ceiling: Tree canopy design.
Play zone: Mini “cave library”.
Furniture: Small colorful desks shaped like animals.
5. Underwater / Ocean Theme
Walls: Fishes, corals, submarine windows.
Ceiling: Wave-patterned false ceiling.
Corners: Reading nook as a “boat”.
