Job Description: Instructional Designer and E-Learning Specialist
The Instructional Designer and eLearning Specialist will be responsible for generating and managing training content for one of our clients. This individual will work closely with subject matter experts to develop engaging training and eLearning solutions to meet business needs and produce measurable results. The developer will design and develop solutions that adhere to both adult learning and eLearning design principles, reflect a high level of quality and creativity, employ a variety of interactions and methods to drive the learning objectives, as well as utilise a variety of delivery systems for development.


Responsibilities:
• Owns the creation of learning solutions that embrace interactive learning, defined as actively engaging a learner's cognitive curiosity.
• Chunks, sequences, and flows content to facilitate optimal learning.
• Learns and applies new tools and techniques to keep content fresh and engaging.
• Familiar with learning technologies such as Camtasia, Captivate, Lectora, and other such tools to create interactive, SCORM compliant web-based training deliverables.
• Project manages various phases of the course development lifecycle including needs analysis, requirements gathering, solution design, course development, course deployment and evaluation.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and SMEs regarding deliverables, timelines, and any anticipated changes.
• Performs quality assurance checks on training courses that have been developed and deployed.
• Ensures learning and performance objectives are appropriate to the audience and that the training materials meet the learning and performance objectives. Will provide recommendations when needed.
• Demonstrate initiative and provide ideas to product owners for the development of training material, recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, use of assessments and design of course materials and activities.
• Maintain and expand knowledge of emerging trends in technology.

Requirements:
• Grade 12 minimum or relevant degree
• Experience with e-learning software (3-5 years minimum)
• Experience in Content Development/ Instructional Design (3-5 years minimum)
• Experience in various software packages (e.g. Lectora)
• Provide a portfolio of eLearning material you developed Knowledge
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle)
• Experience publishing eLearning content to an LMS.
