Project Brief: Instagram API Integration and Analytics
Overview
We are building a platform for brands and influencers to view detailed Instagram analytics. The goal is to integrate the Instagram Graph API into the existing Next.js codebase, fetch influencer data, store it in MongoDB, and display analytics through dashboards for both influencers and brands.
Objectives
1. Implement Instagram Business/Creator authentication using Meta OAuth.
2. Fetch profile, media, and insight data through the Instagram Graph API.
3. Store and process this data in MongoDB using existing or improved Mongoose schemas.
4. Build backend logic to sync, refresh, and update influencer data.
5. Develop dashboards to present analytics such as engagement rate, media performance, and audience insights.
6. Ensure all API routes and dashboards are secure
Key Requirements
* Fix and implement a reliable Instagram login flow, including token exchange and long-lived token refresh.
* Create API routes for fetching and syncing Instagram data.
* Structure and optimize data storage for analytics.
* Build clean, responsive dashboard components for influencers and brands.
* Follow the current tech stack:
* Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript
* Tailwind CSS, MongoDB, Mongoose
Deliverables
* Working Instagram OAuth integration
* API endpoints for data retrieval and syncing
* MongoDB schemas and data processing logic
* Analytics dashboards integrated into the existing UI
* Documentation for setup, environment variables, and API usage
Expected Expertise
Experience with Instagram Graph API, OAuth, Next.js App Router, MongoDB, and analytics dashboard development.
