Tourism Hiking Trail Map

Job ID: 40544398

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I want to turn an already-established trail into an attractive printed map geared toward visitors who may not know the area. The final piece should do more than show a line on a page—it needs to inspire exploration and clearly guide tourists from start to finish.

Here’s what I need:
• Accurate plotting of the full trail based on the source data I’ll supply.
• Clear difficulty gradations along each segment so hikers instantly see what to expect.
• Well-marked points of interest—vistas, historical spots, unique flora, anything that gives the route character.
• Nearby facilities such as parking, restrooms, emergency shelters, cafés or water refill points to help visitors plan their day.

The output must be print-ready: high-resolution CMYK PDF sized for an A3 fold-out (if you have a better size suggestion for tourists, I’m open to it) plus the original, editable file in Illustrator, Inkscape or similar.

Good cartographic design matters here—legible typography, intuitive icons, a scale bar, north arrow and a small locator inset so readers see where the trail sits in the wider region. If you’ve produced outdoor recreation maps before, especially ones aimed at tourists, please mention it and share samples so I can gauge style fit.

Once the draft is complete I’ll review, mark up any tweaks, and sign off when everything lines up perfectly with the trail’s real-world features.
