Industrial Machinery Hydraulic Systems Design
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
We are seeking a Mechanical Professional Engineer with proven, hands-on experience in hydraulic lifting systems and slew drive mechanisms to join an active, permitted project in Collier County (Naples), Florida.
This role is not conceptual. The selected engineer will contribute to a real system that will be reviewed, permitted, stamped, and built.
Strong hydraulic system experience is mandatory.
Florida PE licensure is preferred. Candidates who can coordinate stamping with a Florida-licensed PE will also be considered.
Project Overview-
Mechanical lifting and rotating structural platform 30-ton design load, including human occupancy
Multi-cylinder hydraulic lift system with synchronization and redundancy considerations
Slew drive / turntable rotation system for controlled movement
Scope of Work-
Technical review and engineering guidance for hydraulic and mechanical systems
Load calculations, safety factors, failure modes, and redundancy analysis
Coordination with structural engineering and existing project team
Support Florida Building Code compliance and AHJ requirements
Assistance with permitting, plan review responses, and stamped documentation
Team & Timeline-
Join an existing multidisciplinary team with two engineers already onboard
Project duration: 3–6 months
Engagement: Part-time or milestone-based, with potential for continued collaboration
Requirements-
Demonstrated, hands-on experience with hydraulic cylinders, lifting systems, and high-load mechanical assemblies
Mechanical PE license (Florida preferred) or clear ability to coordinate Florida PE stamping
Experience designing systems that support human occupancy and dynamic loads
Strong understanding of safety factors, synchronization, and mechanical risk mitigation
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly within a technical team
Qualifications-
Expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, and Product or System Design, Strong proficiency in machine design and manufacturing-aware engineering
Advanced skills in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems with attention to detail
Excellent collaboration and project coordination skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience in marine, offshore, heavy equipment, or yacht manufacturing is a strong plus
To Apply
Please include:
PE license details (state and status)
Relevant examples of hydraulic lift or high-load mechanical systems you have designed
Confirmation of Florida stamping capability (direct or coordinated)
