I am looking for a professional Industrial Designer/Mechanical Engineer to lead the structural and mechanical design of a proprietary electronic device. The product is a 3-layer cylindrical device designed for high-performance consumer use.
Key Requirements:
Mechanical Expertise: Extensive experience in designing complex internal assemblies for consumer electronics.
Thermal Management: Proven ability to engineer housings that can manage internal heat (up to 200°C) while maintaining external integrity.
Fluid & Airflow Dynamics: Expertise in designing internal air paths and leak-proof structures.
DFM (Design for Manufacturing): Deep knowledge of injection molding processes, draft angles, wall thickness, and assembly tolerances.
Software: Proficiency in SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
Deliverables:
- Technical Design Document: A detailed report explaining the assembly logic, thermal management strategy, and sealing mechanism.
- 3D Assembly Files (SolidWorks/Fusion 360): Final files must have organized component trees and be fully parametric (easy to adjust if needed).
- 2D Manufacturing Drawings: Full technical drawings with proper tolerances, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and material specifications for injection molding.
- Bill of Materials (BOM): A structured list of all required parts.
Key Technical Constraints:
- Assembly Precision: The design must account for precise snap-fits and screw-boss placements to ensure a water-tight, vibration-resistant 3-layer assembly.
- Thermal Integrity: Must include airflow simulation or structural layout showing how heat is diverted from sensitive electronics.
