Industrial Designer for Consumer Product Development

Job ID: 40573814

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

Product Design & CAD Development – Consumer Product (NDA Required)

Project Overview

I am developing an innovative consumer product and am looking for an experienced industrial product designer and mechanical CAD engineer to help transform an existing concept into a professional, production-ready design.

The product has already been conceptually developed, but I require an expert to refine the design, improve usability, simplify manufacturing, and prepare it for prototyping and future mass production.

An NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) must be signed before the full concept and supporting materials are shared.

Scope of Work

The successful freelancer will be expected to:

* Review and improve an existing product concept.
* Create a modern, premium industrial design.
* Design all mechanical components and assemblies.
* Simplify the design to minimise the number of parts.
* Ensure the product is reliable, durable, and user-friendly.
* Design with both prototyping and mass manufacturing in mind.
* Optimise the product for injection moulding and assembly.
* Produce high-quality CAD models suitable for engineering and manufacturing.
* Advise on suitable materials and manufacturing methods where appropriate.

Deliverables

The final deliverables should include:

* Complete 3D CAD assembly.
* Individual CAD files for every component.
* Engineering/manufacturing drawings.
* Exploded assembly drawings.
* Photorealistic renders.
* STEP files.
* STL files for prototype production.
* Bill of Materials (BOM).
* Design suitable for future production.

Skills Required

Applicants should have experience in:

* Industrial product design.
* Mechanical engineering.
* Consumer product development.
* CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, or equivalent).
* Design for Manufacture (DFM).
* Design for Assembly (DFA).
* Injection moulded products.
* Prototype development.

Application

Please provide:

* Examples of previous consumer products you have designed.
* Your preferred CAD software.
* Your estimated project timeline.
* Your fixed-price or hourly proposal.

This project has the potential to develop into a long-term collaboration covering prototype iterations, testing, manufacturing support, and future product development.
