Product/Industrial Designer Needed to Refine Premium Stainless Steel Tumbler (Existing Design Provided)
Description:
I already have an initial 3D design for a small 12–14 oz stainless steel insulated tumbler. I am looking for a skilled industrial/product designer to refine the existing design, improve its uniqueness, and prepare it for manufacturing.
The tumbler’s overall silhouette is defined, but it needs a more unique, premium, minimalist identity, with special attention on the lid, which must become a key differentiating feature.
Project Scope
1. Tumbler Body Refinement
Improve proportions, curves, and surface transitions
Enhance the premium/minimal aesthetic
Maintain a sleek, seamless exterior
Make the form feel more distinctive while staying subtle
2. Lid Redesign (Top Priority)
Combine visual uniqueness with simple mechanics:
Redesign the lid into a visually unique, signature element of the product while keeping the mechanism simple (twist-lock + flip tab). The external geometry should be refined, minimalist, and premium, clearly differentiating it from competitors. Internally, the functionality must remain robust, minimal, and easy to manufacture.
Lid requirements:
Twist-lock / threaded connection
Flip-tab opening
Full silicone gasket
Must be leak-proof
Mechanism must stay intuitive and minimal
Aesthetic must look refined and high-end
3. Manufacturing Optimization (DFM)
Prepare final CAD files for stainless steel (304), PP/Tritan, silicone
Ensure dimensions, tolerances, and clearances work for vacuum-insulated double-wall manufacturing
Simplify components where possible
4. Deliverables
Updated CAD files (STEP, IGES, or SolidWorks/Fusion)
Exploded view of lid mechanism
Design improvements & small iterations
Optional: high-quality 3D renderings
Optional: manufacturing-ready package

Strong sense of minimalist, premium, modern aesthetics
Comfortable designing for stainless steel + injection molded plastics
