Hello!
We are a German-English publishing house searching for a new graphic designer.
Are you skilled in making books with Adobe InDesign?
If so, let's do a test of ten book pages.
I would send you the following for our new book project:
a.) an ID template of a book that has already been published, which you can use as a typographical guide.
b.) a word-compatible text with placeholders (+++1+++, +++2+++ etc.) for the placement of the images. The number is followed by the respective caption.
c.)separately the correspondingly numbered pictures
You create these first ten pages and send me back the ID file so that I can get an idea.
Is this procedere alright for you?

P.S.: The continuous text of the OpenOffice document must be converted to book type via InDesign. Then the numbered images must be placed in the appropriate positions (+++1+++ consecutive). With regard to the page layout, you can use the attached PDF as a guide.
It is a book in DIN A 5 format with approx. 500 pages of content and over 240 illustrations.
If your sample work appeals to us, we can talk about the price.
What would you suggest?
You would then have to make the book cover on the basis of an already finished draft. So you don't have to redesign anything.
You also don't have to reinvent the bicycle with regard to the type area/page layout and typographical features. Please use our PDF template as a guide.
