Quark Book Compilation & Cover
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
My 461-page, two-column book (316 photos) already exists in QuarkXPress 2025, but it sits in 13 separate project files. I need the entire manuscript merged into one clean Quark file that I can hand straight to a printer and, later, to a distributor.
The task
• Open each of the 13 Quark 2025 files and flow them consecutively into a single master document while preserving the existing two-column layout, pagination, styles and photo placement.
• Place every image exactly as it appears now; no retouching or colour correction is required.
• Add automatic running heads, a consistent master page set-up and an updated table of contents so page numbers remain accurate after the merge.
• Design a simple, clean full-wrap cover (front, spine, back) that matches standard trade-paperback specs; I will supply ISBN and back-cover text.
• Supply the finished QuarkXPress 2025 project plus a press-ready PDF (cover and interior) that meets standard CMYK print requirements.
Acceptance
The interior file opens without font or missing-link warnings, page numbers flow correctly through 461 pages, and the PDF passes a basic pre-flight check (bleeds, trim, resolution).
If you are comfortable wrangling large Quark documents and can turn a tidy, minimalist cover, this should be a straightforward production job.
