Periodical magazine - good InDesign automation skills required
Budget: €25 – €60 EUR
Hi everyone. I have a magazine that is gonna be published every month. I have the text and pictures ready, a INDD-File is prepared to be filled with new Content. The magazine always looks very similar. You can import the Word-Document into InDesign. If you then replace the word-Formatting Styles with the prepared InDesign Formatting styles (automatically in import options), you already got all the text in the INDD File. You then have to add the pictures (anchor them into the text). The position of the pictures is written in the text. Most pictures will be 1 column wide, a few of them can be bigger, especially if there's text on it that has to be read.
Then you'll have to setup a second document with the calendar (the 2 Documents will later be combined into 1 final product, see product in attachment). This is also very easy as there is a script, which will automatically format the whole calendar if you know how to work with scripts.
You'll also have to change all the pictures into CMYK (ISO Coated V2 300%). Then of course you need to make the print ready PDF-file in the same format
The first magazine will take you a bit longer, to get used to the automatization. But in general you can make one of these in 4-6 hours. It will be monthly, if everything works well you can do the magazine for a long time.
I got all the files ready for the magazine of october. You can start to work today. I need a first version until Friday-Evening.
IMPORTANT SKILLS:
- Know how to import word Files automated into InDesign
- Know how to install and use scripts
- Basic picture editing
- Export Print ready Files
There is a 5 page script where everything is explained in detail.
Attached you get the examples of 2 older versions.
