Modern 8.5x11 Print Book Formatting
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I have a completed manuscript that now needs a clean, professional layout for print. The final trim size is 8.5 × 11 inches and I’m aiming for a modern aesthetic—crisp typography, generous white space, and contemporary heading styles rather than a traditional or overly ornate look.
Your task is to take the raw text, text with photos, of a collection of Newsletters of a person between his 1 and 7 years old with a Preface and an Introduction, Readers' Letters, and other sections ––and return a press-ready file that any print-on-demand service or local printer can accept without additional tweaks. That includes: correct margins and bleeds for 8.5 × 11, consistent paragraph styles, page numbering, and a fully linked table of contents. There are images, photos, and charts that should sit comfortably within the grid and reproduce sharply.
I’m happy with either Adobe InDesign or Affinity Publisher as the production tool, as long as you also supply an exported digital print-ready PDF plus the packaged source file so I can make updates down the line.
Before we wrap, I’ll review a sample chapter to confirm the styling choices. Once approved, you can apply the style sheet to the full manuscript and deliver the final files.
