Editorial Design Brief - Project Overview

I've developed a toolkit document (approx. 100 pages in InDesign). The content and methodology are now largely complete. This project focuses on elevating the publication through a refined editorial design system that aligns with the existing company brand guidelines.

Objective

Transform the toolkit from a well-designed document into a premium editorial publication that reflects the quality of its methodology.

The design should improve readability, navigation and visual consistency while reinforcing Immerse Up as a distinctive design system.

Design Direction

The toolkit should feel:

Contemporary
Clean and minimal
Intelligent and approachable
Design-led rather than corporate
Practical rather than academic
Premium, confident and timeless

The content should remain the hero. The design should simplify, clarify and elevate—not decorate.

Scope of Work

Develop a consistent editorial design system including:

Chapter opener pages
Page templates
Typography hierarchy
Tables and diagrams
Frameworks and worksheets
Reflection pages
Checklists
Icons and callout styles
Navigation system
Headers, footers and page numbering
Create consistent visual treatments for recurring content.

Desired Outcome

Readers should feel they are using:
a professional design handbook
a practical workshop guide
a trusted reference publication
... not a presentation deck or instructional manual.

The final publication should encourage readers to return to it throughout the lifecycle of their projects, reinforcing it as both a practical toolkit and a distinctive methodology.
