KDP Non-Fiction Book Formatting
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I’ve finished writing a non-fiction manuscript and now need it professionally prepared for Amazon KDP in two versions—black-and-white print (POD) and Kindle eBook. You’ll receive the manuscript in DOCX along with all images, plus the exact layout template I’d like followed for the print edition.
Your job is to flow the text into that template, fine-tuning typography, margins, headers, footers, page numbers, and front/back matter so it looks polished in paperback. The Kindle version should mirror the same clean styling while remaining fully responsive, with a hyperlinked table of contents and about 25 -30 images (alt text too) optimized for fast loading and crisp display on every device.
Because this is non-fiction, clear hierarchy matters: chapter headings must be correctly tagged, any sub-sections consistently styled, and the file validated to pass Amazon’s quality checks. If an index ends up being required, please generate and format it so it hyperlinks properly in the eBook and paginates accurately in print.
Deliverables
• Print-ready PDF (B&W, embedded fonts, bleed where applicable)
• Kindle-ready file in EPUB or MOBI, built from the latest Kindle Create/InDesign or Vellum workflow and verified through Kindle Previewer
I’ll upload as soon as your files pass Amazon’s pre-flight, so aim for production-grade output free of widows/orphans, broken links, or image issues. If questions arise while working inside my template, feel free to recommend best practices—I’m happy to adjust so long as the final result meets KDP’s specs and looks great to readers.
