InDesign College Assignment: Magazine Creation

Job ID: 38355489

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I'm looking for an experienced professional to help me with my college assignment which involves creating a magazine using Adobe InDesign.

Here's what you'd help with:
You will create a 3-page magazine design, the cover and a center spread (two facing pages). No ad page is allowed for the center spread (images should not take up more than 40% of your spread pages for this project, even though some existing publications will use full page images). Use 8.5x11 inch portrait pages and include a .125 inch bleed. You will find it helpful if you leave "facing pages" checked in InDesign. This will give you one page for the cover and then two pages side-by-side for the spread.

For the mechanical/execution part of the design, I will be looking at format, formula, frame, function of your magazine which means your cover and the grid used for your spread are cohesive. Be sure to consider your subject and audience on each page. Does this fit the audience? How does this serve the goals of the publication? If your design is based on a real publication, it should match their style. Likewise, if you're coming up with an original publication, look to designs in the same industry to guide you.

All headlines, subheads and captions should be real English text with a meaning. No text on the cover should be Lorem Ipsum. The body copy may be placeholder copy from InDesign. You need to design these pages based on all the design principles we covered throughout the semester.

Please export as a PDF and submit both files along with your written portion. You will not receive the maximum amount of points if you don't submit both the IDML file and PDF.

In a Word document, identify and discuss (just as you did in the previous assignments):

Message and audience
Tone and style
Color choice and type choice
Contrast, balance, repetition, alignment and flow
