Illustrated Sonnet Book Design

I have a finished manuscript of fifty original sonnets that I want turned into a professionally formatted 8.5" × 5.5" paperback ready for Amazon KDP. The book is divided into four thematic sections and will remain monochrome inside; the elegance should come from thoughtful typography, balanced white space, and classical flourishes rather than colour.

For the cover I picture a single, striking illustrative concept—created digitally—wrapping the front, spine, and back. Think refined line-work or subtle vector art that hints at poetry’s rhythm without overwhelming it. Title and author name should feel integrated with the art, not simply overlaid.

Inside, I need a classical, elegant layout: traditional serif body type, tasteful section title pages, page numbers in small caps, and generous margins that respect KDP’s bleed and gutter specifications. Each sonnet should begin on a fresh page, grouped beneath its respective section heading. I will supply the manuscript in Word; you handle the full typesetting and export.

Deliverables:
• Print-ready PDF of the interior (50 pages, monochrome, KDP spec).
• Print-ready PDF of the full cover (front, spine, back, with correct barcode space).
• Source files (InDesign or equivalent) so I can update future editions.

Once you deliver the files I will upload to Amazon, so acceptance hinges on KDP’s previewer passing without errors or margin warnings.
