Graphical layouter used to working with InDesign and printed books
Budget: €12 – €18 EUR
Dear all,
We are a very small independent publishing house, focusing on illustrated books for children, age 2-8. The books are always translated from another language, and are usually some 24-40 pages in extent.
Our graphical layouter needs a helping hand. Preferably you can take care of all the steps mentioned here below, so he can focus entirely on communicating with the right managers, and send print files to the printer.
This is what is needed:
Step 1:
1) Download files for content and cover
2) Check files for fonts, links etc. (is everything there?)
3) Extended prepress check
4) Exchange original fonts with fonts containing Scandinavian letters (æÆäÄøØöÖåÅ)
5) Change format to the desired print format (format will be decided by us)
6) Send pdfs to translator (email address will be provided by us)
[ ... files are being translated as notes in the pdfs by the translator ...]
Step 2:
7) Implement translation from pdf notefunction
8) Perhaps some artworking with texts in Photoshop
9) Send InDesign package to us
10) Send an invoice :-)
Based on experience you should expect 2-6 hours of work per title, and 4-6 titles per month.
You don't have to speak or understand the Scandinavian languages, English will do just fine. But you must be aware of the special Scandinavian letters since those are always used in the translations.
