Format PDF Manuscript for Kindle
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
I have a finished book manuscript in PDF that now needs professional interior layout so it can be published both as a 6×9-inch paperback and as a Kindle eBook. The job is to take the existing file, rebuild the interior in publishing software, and deliver press-ready files that meet Amazon KDP specifications.
Scope of work
• Recreate the interior at the standard 6×9 trim size.
• Apply clean text alignment and consistent spacing throughout.
• Add running headers and footers that suit both print and eBook versions.
• Format chapters uniformly, with automated TOC links for Kindle.
• Drop in a handful of already supplied images—just a few, so the layout remains text-focused.
Deliverables
1. Print-ready PDF for paperback (embedded fonts, correct margins, bleed where needed).
2. Reflowable Kindle file (EPUB or KPF) that passes KDP preview without errors.
3. Source file from InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or similar so future edits are easy.
I’ll provide the current PDF, the images, and any style references the moment we start. My acceptance criteria are simple: the files must upload to Amazon KDP with no warnings and look polished on both the Kindle Previewer and a physical proof. If this sounds straightforward to you, let’s get the layout locked in.
