Cookbook Interior Formatting Needed
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m wrapping up an 8.5" × 11" full-color, large-print cookbook (about 20,000 words / ±100 pages) that will publish in both paperback and hardback through Amazon KDP. The manuscript is edited; photos are retouched; what I still need is clean, professional interior formatting that brings everything together.
Scope
• Both text and image formatting: clear recipe hierarchy, ingredient lists that scan quickly, photo placement that feels inviting, and generous blank-line areas I’ve reserved for reader notes.
• Style direction: warm, calm, and simple—think comfortable kitchen rather than glossy magazine. Large-print legibility (font choice, contrast, spacing) is non-negotiable.
• Two KDP-ready interiors: one PDF for paperback, one for hardback, each with correct margins, bleed, and pagination.
Deliverables
• Print-ready PDFs that pass KDP preview for both bindings.
• Native source file (InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or similar) so I can update future editions.
Acceptance Criteria
1. All text and images align to KDP’s 8.5" × 11" trim with approved bleed/margin settings.
2. Images reproduce crisply at 300 dpi; no color-profile issues flagged by KDP.
3. Every recipe starts on a new page, retains blank note lines, and follows consistent heading styles.
4. TOC, page numbers, and cross-references auto-update correctly.
5. Final files upload without KDP errors on first pass.
Cover design is already handled, so the focus here is purely the interior. If you have experience formatting cookbooks or other image-heavy nonfiction for KDP, I’d love to see a sample and get this project rolling.
