Cinematic Book Cover Designer Needed for Major Release (Hardcover, Paperback, eBook, Audiobook)
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project Overview
We’re seeking a top-tier book cover and layout designer to help finalize all print and digital assets for our upcoming release, The Final Bubble — a bold, cinematic nonfiction work from a New York Times bestselling author with major media exposure (CNBC, Bloomberg, Glenn Beck, etc.).
The central artwork is already complete — a powerful, original illustration featuring a figure looking up at a glowing world wrapped in a financial “bubble.” Your role is to use this art and deliver clean, professional publishing assets across formats.
⸻
What We Need From You
You’ll take our finished artwork and create fully formatted, publisher-ready assets, including:
1. Hardcover Dust Jacket
• Full wraparound layout (front, spine, back, flaps)
• Insert: title, subtitle, author name, Phoenix Imprint logo, ISBN/barcode, optional QR code
• Specs for IngramSpark
2. Paperback Cover
• Front, spine, and back (no flaps)
• Optimized for KDP / IngramSpark
3. Kindle eBook Cover
• Clean thumbnail version (optimized for Amazon)
4. Audiobook Cover
• Square 3000x3000px layout for Audible/ACX
5. (Optional) 3D Mockups
• Cinematic presentation for marketing, website, and social media
⸻
✨ What You’ll Be Working With
• Final main art (front cover illustration)
• Title, subtitle, back cover copy, author bio, and logo assets provided
• We just need your skill in layout, typography, and format delivery
⸻
Ideal Designer
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has designed wraparound book covers (print-ready for IngramSpark and KDP)
• Can match a cinematic, minimalist tone (see: Sapiens, The Road, The Big Short)
• Understands layout for hardcover spines, flap text, and export specs
• Is comfortable doing high-end typography using Adobe InDesign or Photoshop
• Can deliver print-ready and source files quickly and professionally
⸻
Deliverables
• Print-ready PDFs (hardcover + paperback)
• eBook and audiobook cover files
• Source files (PSD or INDD)
• ISBN/barcode placement (we’ll provide)
• Optional 3D mockups
⸻
• We are providing all central artwork
• This is primarily a layout and export role with light design polish
⸻
Timeline
• Start: Immediately
• Deadline: Within 2–3 weeks
⸻
To Apply
Please include:
1. 2–4 examples of past book covers you’ve designed (especially cinematic or nonfiction titles)
2. A quick note on your experience with wraparound and print layout
3. Confirmation you can work within the $400–$600 flat budget
4. Your preferred tools (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop)
⸻
This is a high-visibility project launching alongside a companion documentary and global publicity campaign. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in clean, elegant execution and can deliver professional results quickly.
