Freelance Book Designer Wanted – Bring 30 Whimsical Children's Stories to Life! (Example of story and characters attached).
We’re on the lookout for a talented and imaginative freelance book designer to help us craft a charming digital storybook series for children. This project features 30 short stories filled with friendship, adventure, and heartwarming life lessons.
You’ll be working with a delightful cast of 9 fully illustrated characters—already available in Adobe Illustrator and in PNG and SVG formats. We’re seeking someone with a flair for layout, playful typography, and a passion for visual storytelling that engages young readers and their families.
What we're looking for:
Experience designing digital children's books or similar content
A strong sense of page flow, visual rhythm, and story pacing
Understands ePub and fixed-layout formatting (especially for Kindle Kids’ Book Creator or Apple Books Authoring)
Ability to incorporate existing character art into engaging layouts
Creativity in designing whimsical, clean, and kid-friendly formats
Project scope:
Design and format 30 digital children’s storybooks that are modern digitally compatible (eg Kindle and IPad)
Integrate existing illustrations and text cohesively
Collaborate on a consistent visual style across the series
